Education Committee
The goal of our Education Committee is to provide learning opportunities to the craft community in the form of educational offerings and programs. These should advance the impact of healthy American craft businesses no matter where they are located.
The committee has created programs with a wide range of subject matter designed to improve and advance the craft community one person at a time. We offer sessions in numerous formats with up-to-date content designed to strengthen the knowledge of the business of crafts, for not only our members, but other small business owners. The attendees might include artists, makers, sellers, promoters, educators and other persons interested in American crafts in particular and being a successful business person in general.
Education was one of the first committees formed during the initial creation meeting of CRAFT. Since then we have worked with many large wholesale shows to plan and execute educational seminars including ACRE, BMAC (now American Made), ACC, NY Gift (now NY Now).
The Education Committee also has completed three intensive seminars each called CRAFT: The Summit. Each Summit had its own planning committee and presented the most sophisticated and in-depth programs that CRAFT has ever offered. With top Industry professionals speaking and sharing information and inspiration, The Summits were highly respected and very helpful for those who attended.
Future plans include taking advantage of additional educational outreach possibilities. Our committee, consisting of Donna Milstein (chairman) and Cari Luchau welcome new members to assist in the formation and production of CRAFT’s educational outreach.
